My fun finds on Ebay!

Like I said before, I'm heading to the west coast to see my BFF next week! I'm so excited! Neither of us have much money, but together we got the money to buy my plane ticket to see her. She's getting married next year and I will be the Maid of Honor! This trip we are just going to spend time together planning aspects of her wedding and also designing her invitations. I can't wait to see what we come up with :)

In an attempt to gather some money for us to be able to do some fun things, I've listed some of my estate sale finds on here on Ebay!

I have my first piece of vintage luggage for sale along with lots of vintage linens!! Don't forget to check out the old postcards!!

I'm pretty proud of the Samsonite Luggage! I found this at estate sale years ago and I've been waiting to do something with it. I found some authentic vintage luggage stickers on ebay and adorned this beauty with them!!

EEEE! My photo was featured in a blog?!

I'm so excited!! Kimberly over at Kimberose Photography & Along A Road Less Traveled featured one of my photos in her Treasury Tuesday post and Etsy Treasury!

This is the first time I've been featured anywhere, and I'm pretty pumped! I haven't sold any of my photos yet, but I'm keeping the faith. :)

I will be heading to the west coast next week and will be on a mission to take as many beautiful photos as I can. Stay tuned to see that west coast beauty!!

Fruity Photography

For as long as I can remember I've loved to take photographs. Around age 7 or 8, I got my first 110 camera. I would use my allowance every week to buy more film and have prints made at our local grocery store. I went on to take several traditional photography classes while going to school for my Associates Degree in Graphic Design. I loved everything about it! I loved learning about aperture, shutter speeds, light and shadow, film speed, everything! Understanding how the film is used to photograph, then developed to create negatives and then printed into positive was a magical process for me! :)

I've since moved on to digital photography and shoot with a Canon Xti. I sincerely believe my training in traditional photography has benefited me greatly! I urge anyone getting into photography to learn the traditional basics. Learn to know what you are doing, and why you are doing it will put you above the rest!

I've done a few weddings and a some senior pictures. I actually have senior photos and a wedding to shoot next weekend! :) I never really thought about selling my nature and landscape photos online until I saw some awesome photographers on etsy. I thought, "Hey, I can do that!".

So for my first shot at this, I listed these 5 pictures from my recent walks through the apple orchard. You can find them here on etsy!

What do you think? ;)

Vinyl Wall Lettering

Ok, I knew I'd get to it at some point, but here it is! I design and create vinyl wall quotes as well. I've been selling on Ebay for over a year now, and I've recently joined the Etsy community!

So many times I've wanted to start making something new, but I find myself having to fill orders for vinyl first. So while my blog looks like I haven't been doing much, I really have!

Here are photos from some of my favorite customers and how their quote looks on their wall!

I've spent the last few days getting together some new Halloween designs to get listed. Next will be some "Welcome Fall" designs!!

I feel like a squirrel!

In the last three weeks here in Michigan, the weather has taken an autumnal turn. I knew it was coming, but it kind of snuck up on me! The chill in the air has reminded me of our long, cold winter to come. No more yard sales, garage sales and only a few estate sales peppered throughout the winter months. I've realized I only have so much time to find as many items for my winter crafting as possible!

So that's where a lot of my time has been going lately. I promise to have fun things to show you all soon!!

Items found

Last night I spread out most of my fun finds from my recent outings. As I was laying things out I kept noticing different things that would go great together! I found that I picked up a lot of items that are different shades of purple. I'm excited to start a project with those items! I thinking maybe on the yellow make-up case. I'm curious to see how the complimentary colors will work on it! Here are just some of my finds :)

The large beige suitcase has 3 more pieces of matching luggage inside of it! The small beige one in the lower right is also a matching piece. I'm not sure yet if I'm going to decorate these ones, or sell them as a set on ebay. It's a great set of vintage luggage that I would love to see go to good use! Also, two of them are a little bit larger than what I have in mind anyway ;)

Part of today will be spent on cleaning up the luggage with some magic erasers and some silver polish. Once I have the green one (my personal one) cleaned up and ready, I'll get out all of my blue, green and clear sparkly items I want to adorn it with. I'll probably just sit and look at the stuff for a while to brainstorm some ideas. Now the fun begins!!!

Searching for treasures

In the past two weeks I've managed to go to nearly 50-60 yard sales! They ranged from huge over-priced estate sales to small garages offering some pretty nifty finds at really nifty prices! There were some sales I was able to pull my small camera out at and snap shots during my expeditions.

While all these things interested me, they were not the type of things I was looking for. I did manage to score 4 or 5 great pieces of vintage luggage, fabric, old playing cards, more scrabble letters, lots of beads, miscellaneous jewelery and some other odds and ends.

The process of finding items for my boxes is half the fun! I get to meet so many people and hear so many stories about the items I am buying. I try to find out as much info on the items as I can without being too nosey :) I find people love to talk about their stuff! Now, don't get me wrong, I come across a lot of grumpy and crazy people too! I could start another blog on that topic alone ;)

Once I go through my bags and boxes of goodies I will post pictures of the supplies and luggage!
